Meet Meeke, Founder/Chef

Jo-Meek’s was founded by Tamika Conyers, a self-taught cook with more than 25 years of experience in the kitchen. She began cooking at the age of ten, inspired by her late grandmother, JoAnn Conyers, whose soulful recipes and warm spirit continue to influence every dish. Tamika’s love for cooking, nurtured by family tradition, has grown into a deep passion for sharing comfort food that brings people together. In addition to her culinary roots, Tamika is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business management and is expected to graduate in 2026. She is a ServSafe-certified food handler, and a commissioned Notary Public in the state of North Carolina. These credentials reflect her professionalism, commitment to food safety, and ability to run her business with both heart and structure. As the sole operator of Jo-Meek’s, she manages every aspect of the business.

Jo-Meek 's Services

Jo-Meek’s offers homemade soul food plates featuring traditional Southern favorites such as grilled chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, turkey BBQ, flavored rice, and more. The focus is on bold flavor, generous portions, and consistency. All meals are prepared fresh and served hot at pop-up locations and special events. In the future, Jo-Meek’s may also offer catering services.
